December 6th is St. Mikulas' Name Day

December 4, 1999

December 6th is St. Mikulas' Name Day and the day they celebrate with the stockings and Santa. On December 5th you put your boots on the window-sill before going to bed, then St. Mikulas (Santa) fills them with chocolate and little toys. On Christmas Eve, an Angel brings the presents to put under the tree.

On December 4th St. Mikulas made a special trip to Auto Trader to give the kids of the employees some candy for being good all year.

St. Mikulas (Izabella and Barbara translated for Mackenzie, since he's Hungary's Santa he spoke only Hungarian) handed out little bags of chocolate and a nectarine to each child (and the moms) and the kids sat down to eat (don't worry Mom, Mackenzie went right for the nectarine and ate mine also, I took the chocolate).

Left to right, Csaba (Csaba's son), Sandy (Monica's daughter), Roland (Izabella's son) and Mackenzie.

Then with their sugar rush they went off to play.

They found a computer box with the packing peanuts still inside and that's all there was.

First Csaba then Roland buried themselves inside.

Then Mackenzie and Sandy had a turn.

After a few more attempts to get deeper in the peanuts the box broke and peanuts were everywhere. I think they spent more time cleaning them up.
