Muir Woods, home of the coast redwoods (the tallest type of tree on Earth).
Coast Redwoods reproduced two ways, by seed and by sprout. This is an example of sprout. The tree in the middle is the original redwood and it was struck by lightening. It's roots then started growing trees and there is now a circle of trees around the original tree all from the same tree. They're called a family circle.
