There are three pits at Emperor Qin Shi Huang's (259 BC - 210 BC) mausoleum. This is Pit 3 with the warriors on guard duty. There are animal bones and deer horns strewn about, probably sacrifices offered on the eve of a battle. Archeology experts think that this is the command center or headquarters group for those in the other two pits.
