Margit Island - Parliment
We started off, surprise, walking across another bridge! We have now walked across four of the nine bridges in Budapest.
This is the Margit (Margaret) Bridge from the Pest side (we live on the Buda side). It was the second permanent bridge over the Danube (The Chain [lion] bridge was first).
We did stop half way across because there is an island. It is Margit Island and it's a huge park area with sport courts, gardens, a thermal water pool, restaurants and an open air theater. It is one and a half miles long and about one third mile wide. This is just inside when you walk in. They have bikes to rent, little motorized cars, and the bikes with benches that you can put 4 to six people on and pedal.
We wondered around and found this cute garden and we thought we'd take some pictures so Lu would know how to landscape Shari and Jay's yard. Is this what you guys had in mind?
It's really nice on the Island, we even found a little zoo area. There were ducks, sheep, peacocks, goats, pigs, roosters and some other things.

From the Island we continued over the bridge to the Parliment building.
That is the Parliment building from the Margit Bridge. It's closer than it looks. Unfortunately they only do tours on certain days at certain times and this wasn't one of them, so we had to stick to seeing the outside. We've seen pictures of the inside and it's incredible!

We took three pictures of the building to try and get it all. Hopefully you can tell!
This isn't even the good side. The side that's on the Danube is incredible.

This is what the Parliment building looks like from across the Danube. It's HUGE!
This is a long walk...
